POSITION OVERVIEW
Bellevue Healthcare is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and solutions-focused Rehab Funding Coordinator to support insurance authorization and funding for complex rehabilitation equipment and services. This role manages authorization requests from submission through determination, including prior authorizations, Requests for More Information (RFMIs), payer follow-up, documentation review, and appeals. The ideal candidate understands insurance requirements, manages multiple deadlines, communicates professionally with payers, and works collaboratively with ATPs, coordinators, and the rehab team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Prepare and submit prior authorization requests according to payer requirements and timelines.
● Track authorizations through approval, denial, or final determination; maintain accurate records of activity and outcomes.
● Monitor RFMIs and coordinate timely responses and supporting documentation with internal team members.
● Review submissions for complete and accurate clinical, administrative, and supporting documentation; identify issues before submission.
● Communicate payer requirements, documentation needs, and authorization status clearly and promptly.
● Follow up with insurance companies regarding pending authorizations, RFMIs, appeals, and outstanding matters.
● Prepare and submit appeals for denied authorization requests with required supporting documentation.
● Collaborate with coordinators, ATPs, and internal teams to identify and resolve funding and authorization barriers.
● Maintain working knowledge of insurance policies, payer guidelines, and authorization requirements related to complex rehabilitation.
● Meet established expectations for accuracy, productivity, communication, and turnaround time; perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Minimum 3 years of experience in CRT, DME, or a related healthcare industry.
● Strong attention to detail and ability to identify missing, inconsistent, or incomplete information.
● Excellent written and verbal communication, organization, and time-management skills.
● Ability to manage multiple requests and deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
● Comfortable communicating professionally with insurance companies and navigating payer requirements.
● Strong computer, data-entry, and documentation skills.
● Positive, professional, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Experience with insurance authorizations, medical billing, insurance verification, or payer requirements.
● Experience with complex rehabilitation technology (CRT), DME, or medical equipment authorization.
● Knowledge of medical documentation, insurance eligibility, complex rehab equipment, funding processes, and payer guidelines.
● Experience with prior authorizations, appeals, and payer documentation requirements.
